The collection consists of five daguerreotypes, two ambrotypes, and a cartes-de-visite photograph album featuring Grace Nicholson's ancestors and extended family members. Two loose photographs are housed in Box 1. Some of the family members depicted in the collection include John Blackie, Elizabeth Blackie, Kate Clawson, James Blackie, William Nicholson, Mary Nicholson, and James B. Nicholson. There is also a baby picture of Grace Nicholson. All of the individuals in the photographs are identified through written captions. Some of the daguerreotypes were taken by Rees & Co. and the remaining photographers are unknown.

Sinclair, Rowley, and Jenkins family photograph album
Visual Materials
A collection of 39 cartes-de-visite studio portraits of members of the Sinclair, Rowley, and Jenkins families. Among the identified subjects are hydroelectrical engineer Henry Harbinson Sinclair, his wife, Agnes Rowley Sinclair, and his two children, Arthur W. Sinclair and Marjorie Sinclair; various members and descendants of the Levi Rowley family; various members of the Jenkins family and New York State Supreme Court justice Judge John Edmonds, as well as pictures of the Rockwells and Ormsbys. Most of the photographs have handwritten notes identifying the subjects.

An album of 54 card photographs (cabinet cards and cartes-de-visite) primarily of notable people of Victorian England, and a few portraits of Dalziel men. Portraits include those of: Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Thomas Carlyle, John Ruskin, Charles Darwin, Alfred Lord Tennyson, Henry Fawcett M.P., W. E. Gladstone, F. H. O'Donnell M.P., Cardinal Newman, Gustave Dore, and a young Thomas Alva Edison. There are three women's portraits in the album: George Eliot, Kate Greenaway, and Florence Nightengale. Several are by British photographers Elliott and Fry, and Herbert Rose Barraud.
